Ather Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric scooter company, has observed a surge in demand year on year in February 2023. However, on a month-to-month basis, it was negative. The demand for electric two-wheelers has increased significantly overall, and sales in February 2023 exceeded 65,000 units. However, this market area is kept on its toes by new competitors and products.

The company opened its 100th Experience Center in February 2023 (6 ECs were opened in February 2023) and put up 1000 charging grids across the nation. Ather also disclosed a business alliance with more than 2500 organisations. In addition, the company delivered its 100,000th scooter last month, which was another significant milestone.
Ather Energy now offers two scooters for sale: the 450 Plus and the 450X, each costing Rs. 1.35 lakh and Rs. 1.58 lakh, respectively (ex-sh, inclusive of FAME II Subsidies). In addition, the business updated the 450X in January 2023. The Ather 450X has a larger seat as part of these upgrades to improve rider comfort.
Moreover, new colour options were added. These colours include Cosmic Black, Lunar Grey, Salt Green, and a shade of Red; it is also still available in White, Space Grey, and Mint Green. In order to compete with the new Ola S1 Air, Ather also intends to add a new electric scooter to its lineup later this year that will sit below the 450X and 450 Plus.
As of now, Ather Energy doesn't provide any scooters under Rs 1 lakh. This year that is about to change. Recently, a prototype model of Ather's planned inexpensive electric scooter was spotted. It will compete with the Ola S1 Air and be priced in the sub-one lakh bracket.
According to reports, the new Ather e-scooter will ride on a tubular chassis that is more affordable than the aluminium chassis used by the company's 450X and 450 Plus models right now. As a result of this and a smaller battery pack, Ather will be able to offer this new e-scooter at a very competitive price. In addition, the new Ather EV should have a ride range of 80 km.
