Bajaj Auto's Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj, has announced plans for the world's first CNG bike to hit markets by the next quarter. Highlighting industry resilience, he expressed optimism about Bajaj Auto's performance.
The company aims to introduce a new CNG motorcycle sooner than planned, with Rajiv Bajaj stating, "We are actually preponing the CNG motorcycle launch to the next quarter."
Addressing the potential for CNG bikes across different displacement points, Bajaj emphasised the opportunity to build a diverse portfolio. This initiative will mark a global first in packaging a CNG cylinder within a motorcycle.
Rajiv Bajaj highlighted the substantial advantages of the CNG prototype, mentioning a 50–65% decrease in fuel and operating expenses. The prototype demonstrated a 50% reduction in CO2, a 75% reduction in carbon monoxide, and a nearly 90% reduction in non-methane hydrocarbon emissions when compared to ICE vehicles.
In addition, Bajaj Auto is preparing for the "largest Pulsar ever" to be released the following year. Rajiv Bajaj mentioned they're putting all their effort into this and focusing on making Pulsar stand out rather than just making it premium.
Bajaj Auto's rapid product launch strategy continues. The company states, "We are launching products almost every fortnight.
Bajaj Auto, a major Indian motorcycle company, has applied to trademark the name 'Vector' in India. This has led to speculation that they might be planning to release an electric scooter as part of their Chetak electric vehicle lineup.
Rajiv Bajaj provided updates on the electric version of the popular Chetak scooter, highlighting a strong yearly increase in sales by 3-5 times. Plans are in motion to introduce a new Chetak model in the upcoming quarter, with hopes to double production to 20,000 units per month. This expansion aims to meet growing demand and cater to more customers interested in electric mobility options.
Bajaj Auto currently offers two electric scooters the Chetak Premium and the newly launched Chetak Urbane. While they share similarities, the Urbane version includes a 'TechPac' with extra features like hill hold, reverse mode, smartphone connectivity, tamper alerts, and more. It also has a slightly higher top speed of 10kmph compared to the base model, reaching up to 63 kmph. Furthermore, Chetak Premium is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh, ex-showroom.
