The 450X variant is now available with Pro Pack, which costs Rs. 30,000 additional.
Ather Energy recently launched a 450X electric scooter, priced at Rs 98,183 (ex-showroom, Delhi includes FAME II & state subsidy).
This new Ather variant targets customers who wish to have a no-frills 450X. Ather 450X brings a new variant with the Pro Pack that attracts an additional cost of Rs 30,000. The current model provides a fast charger. However, the newly launched Pro Pack variant is quite affordable than the previous variant of the 450X, almost by Rs. 11,000.
What’s New in Entry Level Variant - Ather 450X
The former variant & the new pro pack Ather model has the same design, chassis, wheels, suspension and colour options. Moreover, both variants have the same 6.4kW motor, followed by:
Ather has introduced this new variant and is omitting a lot of specs. For instance, in the new variant, the ride modes are missing. Instead, the rider gets a default mode. The other features you will find missing are:
Its 7-inch touchscreen display is very basic with a greyscale colour interface (riders wouldn’t mind having a multi-colour display).
To your surprise, the low-priced variant has the same 3.7 kWh battery pack. However, the base model gets fast charging times. While the time to charge the battery on the 450X Pro Pack is 5hr40min, while in the base variant, it’s 15h 20min. Speaking of faster charging, the base 450X cannot be charged at the Ather’s fast charging network at all (sad right?).
For Battery Warranty
The base 450X offers a 3-year/30,000 km warranty, and the Pro Pack-equipped scooter offers a 5-year/60,000 km warranty.
Ather 450X entry-level variant competition
The new pricing puts the base variant Ather 450X on par with the iQube S (including the TVS charger cost) and the Ola S1. The new pro pack Ather 450X delivers more high-end performance and top speed compared to TVS iQube S.
While Ola S1 is quite slower than the new Ather variant by 0-40 kph, it has a marginally higher top speed of 95 kph than Ather’s 90 kph. Moreover, Ola’s certified range is quite low at 141 km, while Ather’s pro pack range is 146 km.
To conclude, the new Ather 450X is much more affordable than before. It is highly suitable for riders looking for a high-performing scooter within a budget. The Pro Pack equipped Ather 450X, which costs Rs. 30,000 additional, is also a desirable choice for customers looking for top-featured electric scooters.
