Ola finally brought its new affordable scooters to India after so much talk in recent days. The latest offerings of Ola include two affordable e-scooters, S1X and S1X Plus. Now, three variants are available in the S1X range that are S1X(2kWh), S1X, and S1X Plus. Here, we will discuss all three variants based on the details available.
The S1X retains the overall design language of the S1 series while undergoing subtle changes and additions. The headlight cowl on the S1X is slightly larger at the top than the rest of the S1 series providing a more prominent front-end appearance.
However, the S1X features twin LED projectors within the headlight cowl to improve night visibility. The LED bezel around the projectors enhances the appearance and overall lighting aesthetics. It includes a flat floorboard, similar to the new S1 Gen 2 series design.
Additionally, the handlebar unit on the S1X is slightly different from the previous S1 models. The round mirrors on the S1X offer a distinct visual contrast compared to those on the previous S1 scooters. There are two two-tone paint schemes available in the e-scooter.
The S1X base model powers a 2kWh battery unit, while a 3kWh unit powers the mid-spec and Plus models. Nonetheless, all three variants share the same 6kW engine. However, the top speed of the base model is limited to 85kmph, while the other variants have a top speed of 90kmph.
According to Ola, the charging time for the three variants is 7.4 hours. However, they further differ in features and performance, with the Plus trim having a 5-inch display as the other two's 3.5-inch displays.
The hardware of the S1X shares similarities with other S1 scooters. As a result, it has the same telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. Its braking hardware consists of drum units on both ends, similar to S1 Air. Additionally, it has a 34-litre trunk area and two cubby storage units in the front apron for convenience.
The Ola S1X (2kWh) is available at Rs. 89,999. However, the S1X (3kWh) and S1X Plus are available at Rs. 99,999 and Rs. 1,09,999, respectively (all ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The scooters have seven colour options: Red Velocity, Midnight, Funmk, Stellar, Vogue, Porcelain White, and Liquid Silver. It also indicates that the S1 Air has undergone a price hike of Rs. 10,000, now costing Rs. 1,19,999 (Ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
