On August 31st, Ola Electric released a statement informing about its new sales record of 19,000 units in August. Compared to the same month last year, the YoY sales accounted for about 400% growth. Additionally, the company held a 30% market share this month and continues to lead the way in the electric industry of India.
Ankush Aggarwal, the Chief Business Officer at Ola Electric, said, “August has been an exciting and a busy month for us as we have expanded our portfolio to five scooters with offerings across all popular price points. The expansive S1 lineup will truly put the EV adoption in a fast lane and accelerate India’s journey towards green mobility. With the festive season setting in, we expect strong sales during this period, and expect the EV industry to witness an inflection point owing to the high consumer demand.”
Just weeks before announcing its spectacular growth, the company introduced its 2nd-gen S1 Pro and variant models for its S1 e-scooter. Interestingly, the brand received over 75,000 bookings just 2 weeks after the 2023 S1 Pro was launched.
The company has been expanding its manufacturing units around the country as well. Additionally, it has accelerated its production & operations to run 3 shifts to meet the ever-rising customer demand.
The S1 range currently includes the following variant models based on the same 2nd-gen platform -
Ola S1 Pro e-scooter retails for a price tag of Rs 1,47,499 and features a flatter floorboard, a lighter chassis & dual telescopic front forks. Additionally, the e-scooter boasts an incremental range of 195 km on its MIDC cycle. S1 Pro e-scooter offers a segment-best top speed of 120 kmph. The bookings for this scooter are now open, and the deliveries are scheduled to begin by mid-September.
The Ola S1 Air, which comes with a price tag of Rs 1,19,999, is powered by a 3 k Wh battery pack, which generates a peak motor power of 6 kW. It claims a range of 151 km & a top speed of 90 kmph. The deliveries of the e-scooter have already begun in more than 100 cities.
Ola S1 X range includes 3 variant models - S1 X+, S1 X (2kWh) & S1 X (3kWh). The S1 X+ is priced at Rs 1,09,999, and the deliveries are set to begin next month. However, the S1 X (2kWh) & S1 X (3kWh) are priced at Rs 99,999 & Rs 89,999 respectively, with deliveries set to begin in December.
