Ola Discontinues S1 Air 2 kWh Variant

The Ola S1 Air 2kWh will now be offered in a Single 3kWh version.

Ola Electric released a variety of battery options for its S1 Air and S1 electric scooters earlier this year. The 2kWh battery variant of the firm's entry-level electric scooters has now quietly dropped. The recent development shows that Ola S1 Air will only be offered with the 3kWh battery pack. The 3kWh will now cost Rs 1.10 lakh Ex-showroom price as opposed to its previous starting price of Rs 84,999 Ex-showroom price. Similarly, only the 3kWh battery pack with the Ola S1 is now available. 

Battery Pack Details of Ola Range of Scooters

It appears that Ola's model range had the highest demand level, making it easier to discontinue the offering of the other smaller-capacity packs. Buyers who booked the 2kWh versions will be straight away upgraded to the available 3kWh options, and those who have cancelled the bookings will get full refunds. However, Ola offers customers an extended battery-alone warranty valued at Rs 6,999 upon purchasing their next Ola e-scooter.

Currently, Ola offers three models: the Ola S1 Air, S1, and S1 Pro. The Ola S1 Air and S1 are currently sold with the 3kWh battery pack. However, the S1 Pro still comes with only the 4kWh battery pack. 

Price Offerings of Ola Electric Scooters

The Ola Electric Scooters have varying starting prices.  The S1 Air is available at a starting price of Rs. 1.0 lakh. However, S1 and S1 Pro are available at starting price ranges of Rs. 1.30 and 1.40 lakhs, respectively. Ola's range of scooters competes with other manufacturers such as Ather Energy, Vida, TVS, Bajaj, Okinawa, and others in the Indian electric vehicle market. The prices are according to the ex-showroom prices in Bengaluru and include the updated FAME II subsidy.

Ola S1 Air Features and Range

The 3kWh model Ola S1 Air provides a range of 125 km. The Electric Scooter variant still powers the same 4.5kW motor and has a peak speed of 85 km/h. The scooter can be charged completely in around 4.5 hours. The Ola S1 Air comes with the most recent version of MoveOS 3.0 and a 7.0-inch touchscreen display. Music playing, Bluetooth connectivity, remote boot lock/unlock, GPS, and other features are available on the electric scooter. In addition to the standard riding modes Normal, Sports, and Eco, it has a reverse mode and a side stand alert.

The Ola S1 Air has a grab rail, a flat footboard, standard telescopic front forks, dual rear shock absorbers, and drum brakes. The scooter's five dual-tone body colour choices are Jet Black, Coral Glam, Porcelain White, Liquid Silver, and Neo Mint.

Ola S1 Features and Updates

The 3kWh variant Ola S1 provides a range of 141 km and is powered by the same 8.5kW motor. The available version also offers a claimed top speed of 95 km/hr. The Ola S1 has several advanced features, including MoveOS 3.0 connectivity, to the scooter's operating system. The 7.0-inch touchscreen display of the scooter provides an interface for various functions and settings.

The one feature includes on-the-go music, allowing riders to listen to music while riding. Additionally, there is on-screen navigation available, which likely provides directions or maps on the scooter's display. The scooter also offers configurable widgets, which allow users to personalise the information displayed on the screen.

Modes and Colour Options in Ola S1

The Ola S1 has three riding modes: Normal, Eco, and Sports. However, the top-of-the-line S1 Pro model includes an additional "Hyper Mode," which likely provides an even higher level of performance. In terms of aesthetics, the Ola S1 is available in various colour options. Some of the colours include Gerua, Matt Black, Coral Glam, Marshmallow, Liquid Silver, Porcelain White, Millennial Pink, Jet Black, and more.
