With the launch of 2024 KTM 390 Duke & TVS Apache RTR 310, September 2023 was truly an exciting month for all the bike enthusiasts. And now, October 2023 looks to be even more exciting as we anticipate the launch of a scrambler, an adventure tourer & an electric scooter. The Triumph Scrambler 400X, an updated Ather 450X, and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, the most awaited debut of the year, are also on the list.
The Triumph Scrambler 400X will be the first motorcycle to be launched this month. Triumph has not yet disclosed its price, despite the fact that it debuted alongside the Speed 400. To give the Triumph Speed 400 manufacture top priority, the debut was postponed to October 2023.
Most of the Scrambler 400 X's parts and design are borrowed from the Speed 400. Therefore, it has the same teardrop fuel tank, round LED headlamp & stubby fenders. The motorcycle also features a 19-inch front wheel & a long-travel suspension.
The Scrambler 400X will be powered by the same 399cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 39.5bhp at 8,000 rpm & 37.5Nm at 6,500 rpm. The motor is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine seemed extremely polished during our time with the Speed 400, offering good mid-range performance & respectable low-end grunt. The gearbox provided crisp shifts, and the on-off throttle response was smooth. On the Scrambler 400 X, we anticipate similar engine performance.
The Scrambler 400 X is expected to be introduced in India by the middle of October, costing around Rs. 2.50 Lakhs. Bookings have already started for the Scrambler 400X for Rs. 10,000. The Scrambler 400X will compete against the Scram 411 & the Yezdi Scrambler once it is available in the market.
The next scooter on the list is Ather 450X, which will give a greater range than the current top-spec 450X model. The new 450X might be the 4th generation bike, expected to get a 3.7kWh battery pack & a 110km real range. The model will possibly offer 5 km more range than the Gen-3 model.
Adapted from the Ather 450S, updated switchgear could be one of the major changes. Nevertheless, the electric scooter will continue to be available with similar features, including LED lighting all around, ride modes, a touch screen TFT instrument dashboard, smartphone connectivity, fast charging & more.
Speaking of price, given that the gen-3 model costs Rs 1.44 Lakhs. The new Ather 450X's price may cost around Rs. 1.50 Lakhs. The new 450X will compete against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube S, Ola S1 Pro & others.
Last but not the least, the most anticipated motorcycle of 2023 is the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, of course. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is all set to hit the Indian roads after numerous spy photos & months of testing. The motorbike is anticipated to be launched at the end of this month.
The new Himalayan 452 will be powered by a 451.65cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 39.50bhp at 8,000rpm, as per the leaked regulatory documents. The engine is anticipated to produce 40Nm of max torque. Furthermore, the engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Speaking of the features, the new Himalayan 452 will have dual-channel ABS, LED lighting throughout, a fully digital instrument cluster & potentially Tripper navigation as an option. In terms of pricing, Royal Enfield could be priced at as little as Rs. 2.70 Lakhs. The Himalayan 452 will be a viable alternative to the KTM 390 Adventure X, BMW G 310 GS & Yezdi Adventure at this price bracket.
