Discussion of the beautiful motorcycles is incomplete without mentioning MV Agusta, particularly Massimo Tamburini’s iconic F4 models. However, it’s 2024, and the F4 has long been discontinued, paving the way for modern creations like the Superveloce. Until recently, the Superveloce was only offered in a 798cc variant. Now, the Italian brand has expanded its range with the introduction of the Superveloce 1000 Seri Oro.
It’s not just another sportbike in the lineup; It’s an ultra-exclusive, carbon fibre masterpiece. Only 500 have ever been manufactured; about half have already been pre-ordered because just look at the bike and how amazing it looks. The bike retains the design ethos of the Superveloce but presents it in a more appealing package. Furthermore, the layered fairing gets huge air scoops flanking the small round headlamp. There are winglets inspired by the 1972 MV Agusta 500 Grand Prix race bike, and the bodywork comprises as many as 41 carbon fibre components.
Underneath this impressive fairing is a 998cc inline four-cylinder engine, previously exclusive to the Brutale 1000 series. This DOHC unit delivers an impressive 208bhp at 13,000rpm and 116.5Nm at 11,000rpm. If these numbers aren’t amazing enough, the engine features titanium con rods, DLC-coated cams and titanium valves. The electronics package is equally unique, offering eight levels of traction control, two wet modes, and three road modes. Moreover, the three-track modes are launch control, front lift control, cruise control, lean-sensitive ABS and quick shifter. Also, the bike has adjustable Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, and Ohlins steering damper.
It is the first special model released by the Italian marquee since it was acquired by KTM’s parent company, Pierre Mobility. MV Agusta currently has no presence in India, but it may return to shake up the premium bike market in the future.
