Mahindra-Owned Peugeot Pulls the Covers off Its new OFF-Road ready 400CC Scooter

Peugeot Motorcycles boasts an extensive range of scooters in 50 cc and 125+ cc categories across the European market. Furthermore, with an aim to further diversify its existing portfolio, the company has revealed its first ADV scooter model - Peugeot XP400. The scooter is expected to go on sale in the European market in 2023.

Peugeot XP400 will directly compete with same capacity maxi-scooters from Yamaha and Honda. In addition, the company will launch the models in 2 variants- GT and Allure, focused on off-road and on-road, respectively. Allure will be the standard variant suitable for on-road driving, while GT will come with enhanced capabilities for off-road adventures.

New Peugeot 400cc ADV Scooter – XP400 features, specs

Peugeot XP400’s overall look and sharp panelling around its body seem to be inspired by the Honda X-ADV. A few key features of this scooter include dual headlamps, knuckle guards, a large windscreen, an upswept exhaust, an edgy tail lamp and step-up seat placement. This scooter is the perfect combination of speed and agility of a bike coupled perfectly with the versatility and comfort of a scooter.

However, there are a few differences in each variant model. For instance, GT comes with wire-spoke wheels, whereas, Allure comes with alloy wheels. Moreover, GT has 2 colour options - Shark Grey and Snow White, and Allue comes with 2 colour options 00 Sideral Matt Black and Aurora Satin Green. Each variant is built with a wide range of accessories by the company.

Both variants share a few features, including a 5-inch TFT Screen that features turn-by-turn navigation and other connectivity features. The scooter also boasts a keyless entry, spacious under-the-seat storage and a USB Charging port. In addition, both scooters are designed to have a wider and longer seat, making enough space for the comfort of both drivers and passengers.

The scooters are powered by a 400 cc motor that belts out 36 bhp max output and 38nm of peak torque. As for the suspension system, USD front forks and mounted horizontally mono shock suspension for the rear. The scooter comes with 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wheels. Brakes are handled by a 296 mm dual disc for the front and a single 240 mm disc for the rear side of the scooter. Peugeot XP400’s variants will come with ABS as standard.

New Peugeot 400cc ADV Scooter Price

The Allure and GT versions of the Peugeot XP400 cost Rs 7.2 lakh and Rs 7.3 lakh, respectively. With such a cost, it is obvious that there is no demand in India for such scooters. Peugeot won’t be introducing this scooter in India any time soon as a result.
