KTM 990 Duke Revealed at EICMA 2023 | Here’s What We Know So Far!

KTM has added a new member to its popular Duke lineup: the 990 Duke. This new model was displayed at EICMA 2023. This street-naked motorcycle is the epitome of KTM's motorsport-oriented models, and it's sure to get your heart racing. Based on the test mules that have been spotted, it looks like KTM is also developing a fully-fired RC 990 based on the same platform!

KTM 990 Duke: Specs

The 2024 KTM 990 Duke will have a new 947 cc parallel-twin engine, based on the 889 cc engine from the 890 Duke R. The extra displacement doesn't give the 990 Duke a lot more power & torque. However, it may make the bike feel faster in real-world riding, especially when accelerating in gear.

The 990 Duke will be covered with a new steel trellis frame. Additionally, this bike will be equipped with a fully adjustable USD telescopic front fork setup and a rear monoshock suspension system. Additionally, this bike will roll on 17-inch alloy wheels with Bridgestone S22 tyres. Braking is provided by 4-piston callipers at the front & a single-piston calliper at the rear. Moreover, the KTM 990 Duke will have a kerb weight of 179 Kg.

KTM 990 Duke: Features

Speaking of features, the KTM 990 Duke will come with a bi-directional quick shifter, cornering ABS, cruise control, wheelie control, traction control, 5-riding modes & more. Additionally, this bike will also feature track mode & performance modes, allowing riders to access features like a lap timer.

Moreover, this bike will also get switchable ABS & TCS alongside providing access to the bike’s lean angle data for track excursions. However, these features will be available for free only for the first 1,500 km & then will be offered via subscription plans.

Additional features include a 5-inch TFT dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity, facilitated by KTM Connect mobile app. Speaking of design, it looks like a bigger Duke 390. This bike will get distinctive headlights with muscular tank shrouds to prevent an identity crisis within the Duke lineup. Nonetheless, the twin vertically stacked headlight setup, boomerang-shaped LED DRLs flanking headlight & the overall aesthetics might not fit everyone's taste.
