KTM’s next big adventure bike, the 1490 Super Adventure, has been spotted testing in Europe. This new model looks to be a significant upgrade, possibly becoming KTM’s new flagship adventure bike. Here’s a breakdown of what we can gather from the spy shots.
The upcoming KTM 1490 Super Adventure spy shots unveiled that it features a larger, more robust design. It has vertically stacked projector LED lights in a futuristic headlight setup. Below the headlights, there's a radar sensor hinting at advanced safety and navigation technology. One noticeable feature is the large fuel tank. Additionally, the prototype shows a new swingarm design, which might change in the final version.
The upcoming flagship adventure bike is expected to get a new 1490cc engine. For comparison, the current 1390cc V-Twin engine in KTM’s lineup produces about 190bhp. This means the new engine could offer even more power.
The new KTM 1490 Super Adventure test ride indicates that it will be road-oriented. It has alloy wheels with road-biased tyres. Moreover, its front wheel has a 17-inch unit, while the rear one seems bigger.
The rider's cockpit area seems spacious, suggesting that KTM might include a larger screen at the front. This would be beneficial for navigation and clearly displaying other important information.
Additionally, KTM plans to introduce other big bikes in India in the coming years, expanding its portfolio further. This indicates KTM’s strategy to cater to more markets and adventure bike enthusiasts.
