Kawasaki Revealed 500 CC Bikes at EICMA 2023

At EICMA 2023, Kawasaki attracted strong attention towards itself. The Japanese manufacturer showcased 3 models at the event - Ninja 500, Z500 & Z7 Hybrid. The Ninja 500 & Z500 are likely to replace the existing Ninja 400 & the Z400 models in the international market.

Powered by an all-new 499cc, parallel-twin engine, the power figures are not revealed yet. However, the manufacturer has announced that these bikes will be A2 licence-compliant, producing 35kW (48 bhp)) max power.

Kawasaki Ninja 500 & Z500 : Specs & Features

Ninja 400 is powered by a 399 cc parallel-twin engine that made a strong impression with its versatility. It will be interesting to see if the new 499 cc engine is as good as its predecessor. When the 500 cc models are eventually launched in India, they are likely to be more expensive than the Ninja 400.

In terms of features, the Kawasaki Ninja 500 & Z500 will feature LED lighting, keyless ignition & a TFT console, which may be similar to the Ninja 650 & the Z650.

Kawasaki Z7 Hybrid: Design, Specs & Features

Kawasaki is all set to introduce the new Z7 Hybrid bike at EICMA 2023. This bike will be the naked variant of the Ninja 7 HEV that was revealed a month ago. The Z7 will retain Kawasaki's signature aggressive & bold styling, consistent with the Z series models.

This bike will be powered by a 451 cc parallel-twin engine. Additionally, this 451 cc engine will be paired with a 9 kW traction motor, producing 43.5 kW. However, the power output can be boosted to 51.1 kW when engaging the e-Boost feature. The Z7 will have a similar performance to 650cc bikes, just like the 7 Hybrid. However, this bike will maintain a better fuel efficiency compared to 250 cc bikes.

Speaking of features, the Z7 will come with a full-colour TFT display (similar to the Kawasaki e-1 & Z e-1), an idle stop function, 3-riding modes, a walk mode, etc. These features are borrowed from the 7 HEV.

Kawasaki Z7 Hybrid: Launch

Notably, Kawasaki's hybrid bikes are primarily launched in the global market. Unfortunately, these bikes are unlikely to be launched in India this time. Currently, electric bikes such as Tork Kratos, Revolt RV400, Oben Rorr & Ultraviolette F77 are popular in the Indian market.
