Kawasaki has launched the all-new Z500 in Europe at an initial price of EUR 6,240, which costs roughly Rs. 5.27 lakh sans charges in India. It was first shown at the EICMA 2024. This cruiser is intended for adrenaline seekers and ordinary riders. While presently accessible in Europe, rumours say that it will be launched in India soon.
The Z500 embodies the fierce "Z" series spirit with its aggressive, muscular design. It is inspired by the Z900 and Z500 and boasts a sculpted fuel tank, sharp tank covers, and a compact headlight setup. The minimalist rear section, split seats, and side-mounted exhaust complete the bold look.
This Kawasaki bike is fitted with a 450cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that generates 45bhp and 42.6Nm of torque. Moreover, it is mated with a 6-speed gearbox with a steel trellis frame. However, it has no quick-shifter, the Z500 promises a linear power delivery, ensuring a thrilling yet balanced ride.
The Z500 features enhance comfort and functionality. It comes with an LCD for the standard and a TFT instrument cluster for the SE variant. Besides, the SE variant offers cell phone connectivity, LED lighting, telescopic front forks, a monoshock back suspension, and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The Kawasaki Z500 accompanies 17-inch wheels with 110/70 in front and 150/60 in the back tires.
The launch in Europe has ignited the Indian motorcycle community. Moreover, reports suggest a 2024 launch in India, replacing the Ninja 400 and catering to a new segment of riders. The Z500 will give an intense contest to the Bajaj Dominar 400, KTM 390 Duke, and Himalayan. Also, its forceful design, powerful engine, and features have created critical publicity in Europe and India.
