Highlights:
BMW Motorrad has launched the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure in India. The F 900 GS is priced at 13.75 lakhs, and the F 900 GS Adventure is priced at Rs 14.75 lakhs, ex-showroom. These adventure bikes will be offered as fully built units (CBU), and deliveries will start in October 2024.
The F 900 Twins is the successor to the F 850 GS and comes with all the important upgrades. Both models are equipped with an 895cc twin-cylinder engine, replacing the old 853cc engine. The new engine offers increased power and torque, with 105 hp at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm, paired with a six-speed transmission. The engine is mounted on a bridge-type frame and is connected to the rear wheel by an aluminium swingarm. It is directly attached to the central spring strut.
When it comes to dimensions, weight, and other characteristics, the two models are different, as each meets different needs. The standard F 900 GS is more off-road oriented, with as little rally-style bodywork as necessary, a kerb weight of 226kg, and a 14.5-litre fuel tank, which is significantly smaller.
The Adventure, on the other hand, is more versatile and comes with a larger 23-litre tank, plus a bigger seat. As it would turn out, both motorcycles come loaded with standard BMW features, including multiple riding modes, power modes, traction control, ABS, a bi-directional quick shifter, and a big 6.5-inch colour TFT display.
The BMW F 900 GS is available in two variants: Style Passion in Sao Paulo Yellow and GS Trophy in Lightweight/Racing Blue Metallic. In contrast, the F 900 GS Adventure is available in Black Storm Metallic and White Aluminum Matt.
