Honda recently launched its SP160 bike in India. It is a sportier and premium version of the Honda Unicorn. Although it does not have a direct competitor, it does compete with the Suzuki Gixxer. Here, we will compare the Honda SP160 to the Gixxer regarding its specifications and features.
The SP160 features a sporty design, with a sharp LED headlight and muscular tank shrouds. It has a general design as a sporty commuter.
In contrast, the Suzuki Gixxer is a naked streetfighter. It also features a low-set LED headlight, a muscular fuel tank with extensions, and an angular tail section.
The Honda SP160 and the Suzuki Gixxer have a range of modern features. Honda SP160 offers visibility with its LED headlight and LED taillight. It features a fully-digital instrument cluster to display essential information such as RPM, speed, fuel level, etc. It has single-channel ABS as a safety feature.
On the other hand, Suzuki Gixxer consists of an LED headlamp to provide brighter lighting. The smart features include Bluetooth connectivity and digital instrumentation. It has split seats, enhancing rider and pillion comfort, especially during longer rides. Additionally, the braking system consists of a single-channel ABS.
The SP160 is powered by a 162.71cc single-cylinder engine that produces 13.27bhp at 7,500rpm and 14.59Nm at 5,500rpm. This OBD-2-compliant engine is coupled to a five-speed gearbox and is E20 fuel compatible.
However, the Gixxer is powered by a 155cc air-cooled engine that produces 13.41bhp at 8,000rpm and 13.8Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. This single-cylinder engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The Honda SP160 has front and rear petal discs and alloy wheels on both ends. Front Telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear handle suspension duties.
The Gixxer, on the other hand, has hardware that is similar to the SP160. It also has disc brakes on both ends as well as alloy wheels. Moreover, the suspension hardware consists of front telescopic forks and a rear monoshock.
Honda SP160 is available in two variants. It is available at a starting price of Rs. 1.18 lakh (Ex-showroom).
However, Suzuki Gixxer is priced between Rs. 1.36 lakh and Rs. 1.43 lakh (Ex-showroom).
When we compare the prices of the two bikes, the Honda SP160 is available at a lower price point than Suzuki Gixxer.
