The Patent includes Honda Dax e and Zoomer e Electric Scooters offering an 80 km range.
Honda is continuously filing patents for its Vehicles in India. The company did patents for CBR250RR and CL300 in the country and is now filing patents for two new Electric Scooters in India.
The two e-scooters include Dax e and Zoomer e, which are the modern electric versions of the petrol version of the same. They have a Bosch Hub motor and are smaller in size, capable of offering a range of 80 km with a top speed of 25 kmph on both.
The Electric offerings from Honda, the Dax e and Zoomer e are less competitive than Ola S1, Ather 450, and TVS iQube. However, it looks like a decent B2B offering with modern features such as LED headlights, LCD instrumentation, and disc brakes at both ends. These e-scooters are known to be fun e-bikes, mainly for short-distance commuting.
It is still being determined whether Honda will launch the electric scooters. However, the Electric Activa will be available nationwide by 2024. The details are limited, but if introduced in India, the scooter will compete with the top players in the electric two-wheeler industry and the Suzuki e-Burgman.
