Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the all-new Xoom scooter as its newest 110cc model. Compared to its siblings, the Xoom 110 is primarily geared towards young people and takes a sportier approach. Xoom stands with Hero's most unique sporty scooters, which are the Maestro Edge and the Pleasure Plus models.
One of the Xoom 110's main rivals is the Honda Dio, a vehicle that has been available in India for a time. Now that we've compared the two scooters on paper in this article, let's see how they compare in terms of price, competitors, features, design, mechanical specifications, and other factors.
The ex-showroom price for the Hero Xoom 110 LX is Rs 68,599. Further the VX model priced at Rs. 71,799 and the ZX version costs Rs. 76,699. The Honda Dio's base model costs Rs 68,624, while the DLX trim model costs Rs 72,626. The TVS Jupiter, the Honda Activa Smart, and the Honda Dio are competitors of the Xoom 110 scooter in the Indian market.
Both scooters have a sleek design and an aggressive front end. The Xoom 110 includes an LED headlamp with an LED DRL incorporated into the front apron, and the turn indicators are contained in the handlebar cowl. Moreover, the Hero Xoom sports front cornering lights that turn on depending on the lean position. On the other hand, the Honda Dio has kept its same appearance for a few years now because of its youthful bodywork and consistent fascia. The rear side profile of the Honda Dio appears a touch cleaner than the Xoom 110.
Hero has upgraded its commuter bikes for several years with additional XTec trim features. Yet, the Xoom 110 already has all the features. It also has cornering lights, LED lighting, and an LCD with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Only the ZX model has the technology mentioned above; the LX must be made with an analogue device. A nicely hidden USB charger is also provided to avoid water penetration. The Honda Dio's only features are an ACG silent start, LED headlights, and a digital console without connectivity.
The Hero Xoom 110 is powered by a 110.9cc BS6-compliant engine with a maximum output of 8.05 bhp and a maximum torque of 8.7Nm. It has a CVT gearbox attached to it, and it performs with good vigour. In contrast, the 109.51cc single-cylinder engine of the Honda Dio generates a maximum of 7.65 bhp and a maximum torque of 9 Nm. As a result, its engine is rather agile and efficient and has a tinge of sportiness.
A single rear shock and standard telescopic front forks support the Honda Dio and the Xoom 110. The Dio has drum brakes on both ends, but the Xoom has a front disc and rear drum brakes. The Honda Dio lacks alloy wheels, but the 12-inch Xoom 110 wheels are available with 90/90 front and 90/80 rear tyre combinations. The Honda Dio's fuel tank can hold 5.3 litres of fuel as opposed to the 5.2 litres of the Xoom.
