The Honda CB500X mid-size adventure tourer is no longer available on the BigWing website run by Honda in India. Although this could be a sign that it is being discontinued, we have not yet received a formal confirmation. However, a number of BigWing dealers have reported that they do not currently have the motorbike in store but that the 2023 model may arrive in April or May.
In March 2021, the Honda CB500X was introduced in India, with an outrageous price tag of Rs 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom). In February 2022, the company then drastically cut its price by a staggering Rs 1 lakh. The alleged justification for this was the requirement to get rid of the motorcycle's inventory in order to make room for the new model, which is already on the market in other countries.
Last year, the CB500X had a few substantial modifications in a few international regions. As opposed to the model's telescopic forks, this update's front suspension has new 41mm Showa upside-down forks. New cast aluminium wheels and a lighter swingarm are two more updates to the model. The updated colour scheme, which features ritzier colours, goes along with these modifications. The bike's other features remain the same, and its powerful and smooth 471cc parallel-twin engine generates a maximum torque of 43Nm and 47bhp continues to power it.
It would be interesting to watch if Honda rates the CB500X competitively this time around if the firm introduces the new 2023 edition of the bike to India with the improvements as mentioned above.
