Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is set to debut its first electric scooter. This scooter will be named “eActiva” or “Activa Electric,” and will launch on November 27 this year. The company is steadily releasing teasers highlighting its innovative features.
The latest teaser from the brand confirms that it will feature dual swappable batteries under the seat. This innovative system enhances users' convenience and flexibility. Owners can charge batteries at home, the office, or Honda’s battery-swapping stations.
Honda Activa Electric will feature a sleek design that focuses on practicality and performance. The dual batteries eliminate underseat storage but offer a convenient swapping system. Based on Honda’s e:Swap service, these batteries will benefit from an existing infrastructure in India.
The India-spec Activa Electric will provide an impressive range of around 104 km per charge. Riders can choose between Standard and Sport modes for varied throttle responses. These details were revealed in the latest teaser released a few days ago.
The upcoming scooter promises performance similar to a 125cc ICE model. It sports a minimalistic design with a rectangular LED headlight, flush pillion footrests, and a taillight bar. While it doesn’t share underpinnings with the petrol-powered Activa, its design aligns with Honda’s CUV e: concept showcased at EICMA 2024 in Milan.
The top-spec variant will feature a vibrant multi-colour TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. Meanwhile, the standard version will have a modest LCD display. Moreover, both versions include full LED lighting, keyless go, and USB-C charging.
The swappable battery system enhances convenience for urban riders. Furthermore, the dual batteries provide flexibility for charging at different locations. This system ensures uninterrupted usage without waiting for batteries to recharge.
Honda aims to deliver cutting-edge electric mobility while retaining the reliability associated with the Activa brand. The official launch will reveal full specifications and pricing.
