The new Hero bike is expected to use Xtreme as a name, and the design is completely different from the current Hero 125cc bike.
Hero is working on several new 125cc bikes that were previously reported, one of which is a sports offering. Now, when one of the 125cc bikes was spotted during testing, it looked completely different from other 125cc models of Hero. It was seen testing with angular styling and a rear drum brake.
A rear disc brake, typically found on Hero's simple commuter-style motorcycles, suggests its classification as a 125cc bike. In terms of styling, this bike stands out from other 125cc commuters offered by Hero. It features a sharp and edgy design language. It differentiates itself from the relatively simpler designs of models like the Super Splendor and Glamour.
The inclusion of a split seat setup further enhances its sporty appeal and sets it apart from other Hero bikes in the 125cc segment. The design of the six-spoke alloy wheels on this upcoming Hero bike is also unique. This distinct wheel design adds to the overall aesthetics and individuality of the bike.
The test mule of the upcoming Hero bike showcases several points of difference from their more commuter-centric offerings. One notable distinction is the sporty riding position. The rider's footpegs are positioned towards the rear, and the upper body seems slightly inclined forward. It indicates a sportier riding stance compared to typical commuter motorcycles.
In terms of features, it appears that Hero is not compromising on this upcoming 125cc sporty naked bike. The test mule reveals a digital dashboard and all-LED lighting, indicating a modern and feature-rich package. The exhaust system on the test mule appears to be new and unique to this bike, not present in any other Hero motorcycle.
Additionally, the test mule suggests that this will be the first 125cc Hero motorcycle to feature a monoshock rear suspension setup. This type of rear suspension is often associated with improved handling and stability.
Based on the sharp and angular design of the test mule, Hero may consider using the Xtreme moniker for this small sporty machine. The Xtreme name is associated with Hero's previous sporty models and leveraging. It could help differentiate this upcoming 125cc bike from its basic 125cc offerings.
Considering Hero's reputation for offering competitive pricing, it can be expected that the New Hero Xtreme 125 will be priced below the TVS Raider. The TVS Raider currently ranges between Rs. 93,719 to Rs. 1,00,820 Ex-showroom, Delhi.
