Among India's largest 2-wheeler manufacturers, Hero MotorCorp has witnessed an increased demand in September 2023 due to the festive season. Sales have also increased as a result of a favourable monsoon, rising disposable income & other beneficial economic conditions. Splendour, Passion & Pleasure continue to remain most popular in the Indian market.
Hero MotoCorp witnessed increased sales despite the strong competition in this segment. The company's adaptability in responding to market changes & introducing new products is also the reason behind increased sales.
The company sold 5,36,499 units in September 2023, while the 519,980 units were sold in September 2022. The company witnessed a 3% growth in sales compared to last year. Moreover, the company also witnessed a MoM growth with 4,88,717 units sold in August 2023.
The company sold 4,80,237 units in September 2022. However, the Hero MotorCorp sales improved in September 2023 with 4,94,270 units sold, managing a 14,033 unit volume growth. On the basis of YTD, motorcycle sales witnessed a sharp fall, with 25,69,688 units sold in the FY24 period compared to 26,38,618 units sold last year.

Scooter sales also witnessed YoY growth with 42,229 units sold in September 2023 compared to 39,743 units sold in September 2022. The YTD FY24 scooter sales witnessed a growth with 1,99,412 units sold compared to 1,79,743 units sold during the FY23 period.
Total domestic sales also witnessed a growth with 5,19,789 units sold in September 2023 compared to 5,07,690 units sold in September 2022. However, the YTD sales witnessed a fall with 26,81,190 units sold in the FY24 period compared to 27,17,280 units sold in FY23.
Exports also increased YoY but decreased on the basis of YTD. With a strong global presence, the company exported 16,710 units in September 2023 compared to 12,290 units exported in September 2022. However, the YTD exports witnessed a fall with 87,910 units exported in the FY24 period compared to 1,01,081 units exported in FY23.
In September 2023, overall sales increased to 5,36,499 units sold compared to 5,19,980 units sold in September 2022. However, YTD decreased to 27,69,100 units sold in the FY24 period compared to 28,18,361 units sold.
Hero MotoCorp is all set to expand its range following the launch of the Karizma XMR in India. The Xpulse 210 and Xtreme 210 line have been the subject of active testing by the company. Along with the new Hero Xtreme 440, test versions of these adventure bikes have been seen on rounds. The Hero Xtreme 440, which could be released early in the next year, will largely resemble the Harley-Davidson X440.
