Hero MotoCorp Sold 3.91 Lakh Units Of Two-Wheelers In July 2023

Hero Motocorp is known for producing a wide range of motorcycles and scooters. It achieved a sales figure of 3.91 Lakh units of two-wheelers in July 2023. The company saw a decline of 13.81% compared to its July 2022 sales figures of 4.30 Lakh units.

In July 2023, Hero MotoCorp had a total sales (domestic + exports) of 3,91,310 units. It was a 12.18% YoY decrease from the 4,45,580 units sold in July 2022, corresponding to a 54,270 unit volume reduction.

Lower domestic sales are attributed to a 14.41% drop in motorcycle sales, which stood at 3,60,592 units in July 2023. It decreased to 60,696 units from the 4,21,288 units sold in July 2022.

Motorcycles accounted for 92.15% of the company's portfolio. On the other hand, Scooter sales increased by 26.45% to 30,718 units in July 2023, up from 24,292 in July 2022. The most popular scooters are the Hero Pleasure Plus, Destini 125 Xtec and Xoom, while the Maestro Edge 125 also gets much attention.

Total domestic sales fell 13.81% YoY to 3,71,204 units in July 2023 from 4,30,684 units in July 2022. However, exports increased by 34.98% YoY to 20,106 units, up from 14,896 units in July 2022.

Hero domestic sales declined 12.19% MoM to 4,22,757 units sold in June 2023. Motorcycle and scooter sales fell 10.85% and 5.54%, respectively, MoM Exports, on the other hand, increased by 41.23% from 14,236 units exported in June 2023. Total MoM sales fell 10.45% from 4,36,993 units sold in June 2023, resulting in a volume de-growth of 45,683 units.

Hero MotoCorp's sales from April 2023 to July 2023 fell 6.04% to 16,23,232 units in FY24, compared to 17,27,582 units sold at the same time the previous year. Scooter sales rose 11.52% in FY24 to 1,20,652 units, up from 1,08,191 in FY23. Total domestic sales fell 4% to 16,88,454 units in FY24, down from 17,58,850 in FY23.

Exports declined 27.94% to 55,430 units in FY24 from 76,923 units in FY2023, bringing overall YTD sales down 5.01% to 17,43,884 units in FY24 from the same four-month period the prior year of 18,35,773 units.
