Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of two new models, including the 125R and Xoom 160. These scooters are familiarised with sportier and more performing scooter choices.
The Xoom 160 has a 156cc, liquid cooled single-cylinder motor that produces 14hp @ 8,000 and 13.7 Nm @ 6,500 rpm of torque. Besides, it has a bold and aggressive design with a tall windscreen, comfortable seating, and extra legroom. Moreover, its features incorporate a computerized instrument cluster, LED headlamps and taillights, keyless start, remote seat opening and i3s start-stop technology.
Simultaneously, it has 14-inch wheels and a kerb weight of around 141kg. This TVS scooter is reasonable for highway cruising and longer journeys. Besides, Hero Xoom 160 accompanies a telescopic fork at the front and a twin shock absorber at the rear ends. It is expected to rival with well known scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155.
The Xoom 125R is controlled by a 124.6cc, air-cooled single-cylinder motor that conveys 9.5hp and 10.14Nm torque. This scooter has a powerful design with sharp lines and bold graphics. Moreover, it is introduced for tech-savvy riders with features like a large digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, keyless ignition, and smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts.
The Xoom 125R is ideal for navigating city traffic and short commutes. Moreover, this TVS model is expected to challenge the Honda Dio, TVS Ntorq and Suzuki Avenis.
The growing demand for premium and performance-oriented scooters presents a lucrative opportunity. Moreover, the Hero is well-positioned to leverage its vast experience and brand recognition to fulfil these demands.
The launch of these models is likely to stir competition in the 125cc and 160cc scooter segments, potentially leading to price adjustments and feature upgrades across various brands. This ultimately benefits Indian consumers by offering a wider range of choices and potentially driving innovation in the scooter market.
The exact price points are not announced, but considering Hero's competitive pricing strategy, they are likely to be placed strategically to attract budget-conscious buyers.
The arrival of the Hero Xoom models is anticipated by scooter enthusiasts and industry watchers alike. They can possibly stir up the Indian scooter market and rethink the riding experience.
