Bengaluru, a city known for its delectable dosas, IT firms, and excruciating traffic, is now gradually emerging as the birthplace of numerous electric two-wheeler manufacturers. These are just a few of the companies that have been at the vanguard of introducing iconic electric two-wheelers to India: Ather Energy, Ola Electric, Ultraviolette, and Simple Energy.
A new electric scooter that was born in Bengaluru is attempting to make a name for itself. On this year’s republic day, the company introduced the three-wheeled iGowise BeiGo X4, a self-balancing electric scooter. The most interesting part about this e-scooter is that it doesn’t use a gyroscope to balance itself.
The BeiGo X4 has a distinctive minimalist design that exudes toughness and functionality, making it seem, unlike any electric scooter we’ve grown accustomed to seeing. The apron is straightforward, but the headlamp is integrated into a component that resembles the four-bonnet. A comparable tub is incorporated inside a tiny, boxy body that also houses the seating space.
The maker calls this scooter “self-balancing,” but unlike the self-balancing Liger X electric scooter featured at the Auto Expo, the BeiGo X4 doesn’t employ gyroscopic technology; instead, it sits on two rear wheels to provide the rider with the option of always having their feet on the ground. The front wheel tilts as well as the entire body as it turns, whilst the back wheels remain stationary. This would stop the e-trike from tipping over. Despite that, the e-performance trikes at higher speeds will be intriguing to watch.
A fire-resistant LiFePO4 battery pack is said to give the BeiGo X4 a 150 km driving range. Again, a unique feature we haven’t yet seen on our roads, the two back wheels of this e-scooter have twin hub motors. The BeiGo X4 has a 60-litre boot due to its distinctive form, a flat floorboard, and triple-disc brakes, with CBS, the brand’s term for the anti-skid braking system, as a safety net.
The pricing of this e-trike is Rs 1.10 lakh (introductory), and the manufacturer also provides a five-year/one lakh km guarantee. Due to their price, the TVS iQube S and Ola S1 are competitors of the BeiGo X4. We hope the company builds a robust network of touchpoints and is able to meet demand, given that the manufacturing plant for iGowise is said to have an annual capacity of 30,000 units.
