After weeks of anticipation and wait, Gogoro has finally pulled the covers off its best-yet electric scooter - Gogoro CrossOver GX250. This new electric scooter comes with a battery-swapping system. However, the facilities will only be available to B2B customers for now, only in Goa & Delhi. Later, the company will be available to Mumbai & Pune B2B customers in the first half of 2024. For customers, this electric scooter is scheduled to be available in the 2nd Quarter of 2024.
The Gogoro CrossOver Scooter range is available in 3 variants -
CrossOver GX250 will be immediately available on the market. This entire scooter range is produced in Maharashtra, making it Gogoro’s first made-in-India scooter. It is going to integrate multiple and specific modifications for the Indian market.
Looking at the design, CrossOver sports a very rugged & utilitarian design. It comes with large body panels, a spacious floorboard & a split-type seat with a pillion seat. The unique part of this pillion seat is that it can be folded to make it a rider backrest and get more space for more luggage.
The new CrossOver GX250 scooter boasts ample storage space with 26 locking points and four cargo areas: above the headlight, on the floorboard, under the seat, and in the rear. Designed for rough terrain, it features a robust all-terrain frame for strength and stability. The suspension includes a front telescopic fork and rear twin shock absorbers, providing 176mm of ground clearance.
Powering the CrossOver GX250 is a 2.5 kW Direct Drive, delivering a top speed of over 60 kmph and a certified range of 111 km. Notable features include a keyless function, a digital instrument cluster, and swappable batteries.
Expected to launch in mid-2024, the CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S models aim to be competitively priced, as they are manufactured in India to support businesses. The GX250 will compete with the Hero Electric Nyx.
The company plans to continue its partnership with Zypp Electric, an EV-as-a-service platform, for its EV fleet. In Goa, the company has partnered with FutureEV to introduce Gogoro e-scooters and swap stations exclusively for tourists. The pilot run begins on December 25, 2023, with a commercial launch scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
