Gogoro, based in Taiwan, has unveiled its latest, the CrossOver SmartScooter. The company is calling this upcoming scooter ‘2-wheel SUV’. Unlike its city-centric predecessors like the Viva, the CrossOver is built for tougher terrains. Notably, a high 14.2-cm (5.6-in) ground clearance & a robust all-terrain frame add up to its strength & stability. Well, one thing's for sure, Gogoro is taking electric scooters to a whole new level!
This CrossOver SmartScooter will be powered by a 7.6 kW electric motor, producing 196 Nm of torque. The off-road scooter will be equipped with a synchronized braking system, a telescopic front fork & a dual shock absorber setup at the rear. The electric scooter will ride on 12-inch wheels, fitted with Maxxis dual-purpose tyres. However, the range & the charging time are yet to be revealed.
Speaking of features, this CrossOver SmartScooter will have a smartphone app to track all the ride data. Interestingly, the scooter will also have a traction control system (TCS) as standard & a cruise control, which will be optional.
This scooter will be sold in Taiwan as of now. However, it will be launched in other countries too. Gogoro is yet to operate its business to its full potential despite having its presence in India. Notably, Gogoro has collaborated with Hero MotoCorp, but nobody is aware of their collaboration work in India yet. The price is not revealed yet.
