Bajaj is working on a new electric platform for its legendary Chetak model to increase its appeal in the expanding EV market. This upgraded platform is expected to offer remarkable improvements in performance, range and technology, incorporating the latest electrical advancements. The upgraded Chetak Electric is expected to provide improved battery capacity, advanced connectivity features, and a more advanced design to appeal to today’s urban riders. This aims to position Chetak as the top contender in the electric scooter market.

New Electric Scooters and Next-Generation Chetak Platform

Bajaj Auto plans to expand its range of electric scooters and planning to launch several new EV products in the near future. The company is gearing up to launch the Bajaj Chetak 2903 around the festive season. Apart from launching the current model, which is more Budget-friendly and premium, Bajaj is also developing an all-new electric platform for the Chetak.
 

This new electric platform will pave the way for the next generation of electric scooters under the Bajaj brand. While Bajaj has kept the specs of the platform under wraps, the hope is that it will support a bigger battery and faster charging power. The latest platform is expected to include advanced features such as Google Maps navigation, touchscreen display and other improvements.
 

The new Chetak platform is expected to be available in early FY2025, with early releases in the April and June quarters. So far, Bajaj has focused on making family scooters for its electric 2-wheeler lineup, but the new Chetak platform is expected to come with a wider range of body types in India.
