Honda is currently working on Honda CB350 Cruiser, which is expected to launch later this year.
According to recent reports, Honda plans to launch several new two-wheelers in the Indian market across different segments. Introduction of the Shine 100 at a competitive price point was just one of Honda's recent moves to capture customers in the mass market. In addition, one of Honda's upcoming offerings in India is the CB350 cruiser, which is expected to launch soon.
Honda is reportedly expanding its product line by releasing a new cruiser motorcycle based on the platform CB350 by the end of this year. Currently, Honda offers the H'ness CB350 and CB350 RS in the entry-level middleweight segment, which received positive feedback in the market. Recently, Honda introduced six custom accessory kits for both motorcycles at Rs. 7,500 and up.
Honda is strengthening its presence in the middleweight market, catering for a wide range of customers. Hence, the new features and designs Honda brings to this bike will affect its performance in the market.
Honda is considering expanding its 350 cc line to better compete with Royal Enfield's popular 350 cc models, including the Meteor 350. Reports suggest that Honda may be working on a new 350 cc cruiser specifically designed to meet the needs of cruising enthusiasts. Honda may also revamp the half-duplex cradle frame and lengthen the wheelbase to accommodate these needs better.
Honda can use the existing 348 cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine in their new
350 cc cruiser. It can produce a maximum power of 21 PS @ 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 30 Nm @ 3,000 rpm. This engine has already been used in other Honda models, such as the CB300R and the CB350.
Furthermore, the new cruiser may feature a standard five-speed transmission, slipper, and assist clutch. The slipper clutch prevents wheel hop and instability during hard downshifts, while the assist clutch reduces the effort needed to operate the clutch lever.
This engine and transmission combination can provide an excellent balance of power and control. If it hits the market, the new cruiser will be a formidable contender in the 350 cc segment.
The design of the new cruiser could take inspiration from Honda's Rebel series of cruisers sold in international markets. This could give the new cruiser a modern and stylish look that would appeal to riders in the 350 cc segment.
The new Honda Cruiser could come with various features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a digital instrument console, dual-channel ABS, and traction control. For better control, the cruiser can have a tall set handlebar positioning and relaxed forward set footpegs. It is also expected to have telescopic forks at the front side and twin shock absorbers at the rear side for suspension duties. A dual-channel ABS system is expected to assist the front and rear disc brakes as standard.
Finally, the report suggests that the new cruiser could be sold exclusively through Honda's BigWing dealerships. This would make sense as BigWing dealerships are designed to offer premium products and services to customers. However, until there is an official confirmation from Honda, it's important to remember that all of these details are speculative.
