The first batch of the V4SV superbikes has started to be delivered by TVS-owned British motorcycle manufacturer Norton Bikes. The production began last year after TVS acquired the English company and restarted its operations.
For the V4SV, Commando 961, SP, and the Classics, Norton has been actively working on both the production and booking fronts. And as of now, the Supersports deliveries have started. The V4SV is being offered for GBP 44,000. (approximately Rs 43.75 lakh sans taxes).
A 1,200 cc V4 engine from Norton powers the V4SV. It is housed in a tubular frame and produces 185 bhp and 125 Nm. The motor is coupled with a bi-directional quick-shifter and a six-speed gearbox. The setup is supported by rear mono-shocks made specifically for TTXGP Norton, and front forks from Ohlins called NIX30. The braking system consists of a 245mm Brembo disc and twin 330mm rotors up front.
Full LED lighting, a six-inch colour TFT console with automatic brightness adjustment, a rearview camera, a six-axis inertial measurement unit, lean-sensitive traction control, three engine modes (Wet, Road, and Sport), ABS, and a keyless ignition system with electronic steering lock are among the features.
Even though Norton is back on track following its purchase by TVS, it will unlikely soon enter the Indian market.
