Bajaj Auto has expanded its range of electric scooters with the launch of the Chetak 2901, its most affordable model so far. As a base trim, it acts as an entry-level option for customers looking to buy a Bajaj EV. However, the Chetak 2901 has competition against Ola Electric’s S1X. Let’s see the Bajaj Chetak 2901 vs Ola S1X comparison based on their specifications and features.
Even in the base trim, the Bajaj Chetak looks similar to the other models. While the colour options are limited, the body and design are in keeping with the urban and stylish. In contrast, when compared to the S1 Air and S1 Pro, the Ola S1X looks a bit different. The two scooters are equally stylish and come in vibrant colours.
On the feature front, Bajaj has equipped the Chetak with standard LED lights, Eco mode and a digital screen. Along with the Tec Pac, the Chetak 2901 comes with a sports cart mode, chest hold, reverse mode, call and music control and smartphone connectivity, but this package comes with a Rs. 3,000 price tag.
The Ola S1X comes with LED headlights and three ride modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. It offers OTA updates, predictive maintenance, cruise control and reverse mode. Overall, the Ola scooter provides advanced features. These Bajaj Chetak 2901 vs Ola S1X specifications make each scooter shine in their EV segment.
The Chetak 2901 is powered by a 2.8 kWh battery, which provides a range of 123 km and a top speed of 63km/h. In contrast, the Ola S1X comes with a 2kWh battery system, offers a top speed of 85km/h and a maximum range of 84km.
In addition, the S1X offers a 3kWh battery option, which boosts its top speed to 90km/h and increases its range to 151km. Despite the Chetak’s lower top speed, the Ola nearly matches the S1X’s range.
The Chetak 2901 features front and rear monoshock suspension with drum brakes at both ends. In contrast, the Ola S1X comes with a conventional Twin telescopic front brake and dual rear shocks and also has drum brakes at both ends, like the Chetak.
The Bajaj Chetak 2901 is priced at Rs. 95,998, and the Ola S1X is available for ₹ 69,999 for the 2kWh battery option and ₹ 69,999 - 99,999 for the 3kWh unit (all prices ex showroom, India).
Please note that the Bajaj Chetak 2901 vs Ola S1X On-Road Price depends on features like location, taxation, and government policies. Overall, the Ola S1X seems to offer a better deal. However, in the real world, a direct comparison of tests will be needed to find a superior product between the two.
The Bajaj Chetak 2901 is priced at Rs. 95,998, while the Ola S1X is priced at ₹. 69,999 - 99,999, respectively. The Ola S1X looks affordable, but thorough real-world testing is required to accurately compare their overall performance, features, and price.
