Yamaha has been hard at work lately with multiple new changes to its wide range of portfolio products. The brand’s FZ lineup is an entry-level range into its motorcycle lineup and is the highest-selling Yamaha bike in India. The brand has now given its FZ-S FI a little upgrade for 2023, which now bears a V4.0 Tag. Yamaha has given this new version multiple upgrades to make it all more powerful than before.
As for the pricing, Yamaha has incremented Rs 3,000 for the new model. So, now the latest Yamaha FZS V4.0 comes with a price tag of Rs. 1,27,400, as opposed to Rs. 1,24,400 for the older version. Along with this new bike, Yamaha has also launched the latest upgraded version of R15 V4, MT-15 and FZ-X.
The first delivery of the new FZ-S has begun to arrive at the dealer’s showrooms. K2K Motovlogs has recently released a detailed walkaround of the 2023 Yamaha FZS V4.0. The most prominent change that we can see right off the bat is its new front headlight design. In addition, the bike gets new twin LED DRLs that flank the main headlight unit.
Apart from this, there is a larger instrument console on the bike as well, the same unit found on MT-15. The new bike further boasts a larger LCD display with BlueTooth connectivity, which will help display SMS and call alerts and phone battery levels on the console. However, turn-by-turn navigation is not integrated, which is a bit disappointing.
Yamaha FZS V4.0 will come with LED turn indicators as standard, which used to be offered as a paid accessory before. Braking systems are unchanged, but TCS has been added to the new version. Sadly, dual-channel ABS is not offered in this new version either.
Yamaha has equipped the latest version with integrated OBD-II diagnostics, meeting the BS6 Phase2 compliant with new RDE norms. In addition, FZS V4.0 is equipped with a single-cylinder engine, which is E20 compliant as well, meaning it will be able to run on ethanol blends up to 20%.
As for the technical features, there are no huge changes; the bike will still produce 12.4 PS power and 13.3 NM torque. The engine is perfectly tuned to a 5-speed transmission gearbox. Yamaha FZS V4.0 is a decently fuel-efficient 1500 cc bike. Yamaha has offered the same in 3 different shades - Metallic Black, Metallic Grey and Majesty Red. The metallic Grey version will get blue alloys, while the rest two will feature gold alloys.
