BMW M 1000 XR Unveiled | Here’s What You Need to Know!

BMW has unveiled the M 1000 XR, the third addition to its M series. This model borrowed the engine from the S 1000 RR superbike. However, there are some changes in power outputs. Let’s read the details for a better understanding!

BMW M 1000 XR: Specifications & Features

The S 1000 XR has received some feature, power & cosmetic updates. Speaking of power outputs, the 2024 model’s engine will produce 170 bhp at 11,000rpm, compared to the 165 bhp produced by the earlier model. The torque outputs remain the same, with 114Nm at 9,250 rpm. Besides power outputs, the seat height has also been increased to 850 mm from the previous 840 mm.

The M 1000 XR has shorter 4th-6th gears compared to the S 1000 XR for a quicker acceleration. Additionally, the final drive gearing is also shorter, featuring a 47-tooth rear sprocket, as opposed to the 45-tooth unit on the S model. While the chassis is based on the S 1000 XR, the M 1000 XR stands out with winglets, generating 12 kg of downforce at 220 kph. Moreover, to handle this increased power, it's equipped with special M brake calipers and discs. It also comes standard with the Brake Slide Assist system.

The M Competition Package for the M 1000 XR features M Carbon wheels, along with various M Carbon components like a rear wheel cover with integrated chain guard, side panels, front wheel cover, inner cover & ignition/steering lock cover. It also includes fully adjustable M footrests for both rider and passenger, plus a lap timer. This package will reduce the bike's weight by an additional 3kg.

The S 1000 XR now comes with standard features like a Headlight Pro, a USB charger & a keyless ride. Additionally, the front beak now has the finishing of the same colour instead of black.
