BMW Launched New Electric Scooter Provides A Range of 90 Km

BMW CE 02 is available at USD 7600 (around Rs. 6.3 Lakhs) and has a quirky and futuristic design.

The BMW CE 02 electric scooter is a stylish, futuristic ride that appeals to younger riders. BMW launched its new electric scooter CE 02 for USD 7,599 (Rs. 6.28 lakh) for the base model and USD 8,474 (Rs. 7 lakhs) for the Highline variant. The CE 02 is more affordable than the CE 04 electric scooter, which starts at USD 12,195 (around Rs. 10.07 lakh). Additionally, the CE 02 has a compact and lightweight design, making it a great choice for navigating city streets.

Design of BMW CE 02

The BMW CE 02 electric scooter is designed to stand out and catch one's attention. It possesses a distinctive charm that appears to break all conventions and rules. Although it may not be conventionally attractive, its youthful energy and rebellious spirit make it impossible to overlook. It's truly a work of art in motion. 

Features of BMW CE 02

BMW has made it possible for riders to stay connected when riding their CE 02 electric scooter. It has a 3.5-inch micro TFT screen that shows a variety of data. It is supported by a single bracket, giving it a floating appearance. Users may access various services by pairing their cell phones with the BMW Motorrad Connected app and BMW Backend Connectivity. The connection features are accessed by specialised switches on the left handle.

The BMW CE 02 electric scooter's key features include:

• USD front forks.
• A single-piece flat seat.
• A raised handlebar.
• Stylish rear-view mirrors.

The riding position appears rather pleasant; however, mastering this quirky electric machine may take some time.

The BMW CE 02 is built with a double-loop steel frame and an adjustable rear shock absorber. It boasts 14-inch wheels on both ends, commanding a street appearance. The scooter is equipped with disc brakes and ABS on the front wheel. A belt drive powers the rear wheel via a single-sided swingarm.

Battery Details and Performance of CE 02

Two battery pack options are available in the CE 02 electric scooter for users, such as a single or dual battery pack option. Each lithium-ion battery pack has a capacity of 2 kWh. The scooter weighs 119 kg and has a range of 45 km on a single battery. The maximum speed is 45 kmph. Many European nations will not require a licence for the single-battery version. However, in India, no licence electric scooters must have their top speed limited to 25 kmph.

The CE 02 dual-battery pack model weighs 132 kg and has a range of 90 km. It produces 15 hp of power and has a peak speed of 95 kmph. Both variants can be charged using a normal 0.9 kW charger, and a 1.5 kW rapid charger is also available. The dual-battery pack version takes 5 hours 12 minutes to charge with the conventional charger and 3 hours 30 minutes with the fast charger. 

The standard charger can charge the single-battery version in 3 hours and 2 minutes. BMW CE 02 has ride modes of Surf and Flow. Users choosing the Highline trim get an additional Flash riding mode. The Highline package also includes other exclusive features such as a Highline colour scheme, backend connectivity, external quick charger, heated grips and a highly integrated SP Connect smartphone holder.
