BMW Motorrad has launched its new electric scooter, the CE 02, in India. This electric scooter is priced at Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the second electric scooter launched by BMW in India after the CE 04.
This BMW Scooter is one of the most expensive electric two-wheelers in India. It is manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu and its bookings are now open at BMW dealerships across the country. Deliveries will begin soon. Let’s know more about it in detail.
The BMW CE 02 is powered by an 11 kW electric motor that delivers 15 bhp. It comes with a 3.9kWh battery that offers a range of 108 km per charge (ICAT certified). Moreover, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in just 3 seconds. The top speed of 95 kmph allows it to handle highway riding comfortably.
The CE 02's standard 0.9kW charger takes 5 hours and 12 minutes to charge. With the 1.5kW quick charger, the battery charges fully in 3 hours and 30 minutes. The CE 02 has two riding modes, Flow and Surf, along with a reverse mode. The Highline package adds an additional Flash mode, heated grips, and faster charging capabilities.
The CE 02 has a minimalistic design, with almost no body panels. It rides on 14-inch wheels and uses disc brakes with ABS at both the front and rear. Furthermore, the scooter is equipped with LED lights, a 3.5-inch TFT screen, keyless operation, and USB charging. It also features Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Recuperation Stability Control (RSC), and a smartphone holder.
