Two-wheeler Italian brand Benelli, now owned by a Chinese company, recently revealed the BKX 300 adventure tourer at EICMA 2023. Earlier released as a concept this year, the Benelli BKX 300 was revealed in a production-ready form. Moreover, this bike is designed for off-road riding & has a futuristic appearance. The new BKX 300 joins the new lineup of entry-level ADVs, including the newly launched Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The BKX 300 will be powered by the 292.4 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine will produce 29.2 bhp at 9,000 rpm & 24.5 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. In addition, this 292.4CC engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox alongside an assist-and-slipper clutch for smoother downshifts. Moreover, this bike will be equipped with USD front forks & a preload adjustable monoshock suspension system at the rear, offering 180 mm of travel. This bike will come with a 280 mm disc at the front & a 240 mm disc at the rear with a dual-channel ABS braking system.
The Benelli BKX 300 ADV will be covered with a lightweight steel frame. This bike will also get slim bodywork. The seat is designed for better comfort & accessibility, while the upswept exhaust will help with water wading. The bike will roll on 19-inch front & 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, ideal for off-road riding.
The Benelli BKX 300 ADV was designed at the Benelli Style Center in Pesaro, Italy. However, this 300 ADV is being manufactured at the brand’s parent company, Qianjiang (QJ Motor) in China. The Benelli BKX 300 ADV marks a significant departure from the company's TRK adventure motorcycle range. It will boast a fresh & modern design with unique elements like vertically stacked LED headlights with DRLs & side panels extending over the front forks. At the rear, this bike will feature a combo light assembly where the turn signals double as brake lights. This particular design trend has also been adopted by the Royal Enfield Himalayan & other large-capacity ADVs.
Benelli will launch the BKX 300 ADV in international markets in the 2nd half of 2024. Along with the 292 cc version, this 300 ADV will also be available in 125 cc & 250 cc variants depending on market regulations. Benelli is collaborating with Hyderabad-based Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI) in India. However, it is yet to be seen if this bike will be launched in India.
This new adventure tourer will compete against the KTM 250 Adventure, new Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure & BMW G 310 GS.
