Bajaj Auto, a prominent player in the two-wheeler industry, took the spotlight at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 by unveiling a diverse lineup of products. Among the showcased models, the Pulsar NS160 Flex and Dominar E27.5 emerged as the focal points, representing modified flex-fuel versions of the well-established Pulsar NS160 and Dominar 400 currently available in the Indian market.
The standout feature of both the Pulsar NS160 Flex and Dominar E27.5 lies in their modified engines and mechanical components, allowing them to run seamlessly on ethanol-blended petrol. While Bajaj Auto has kept the ethanol blend capacity for the Pulsar NS160 Flex under wraps, the Dominar 400 boasts a 27.5% ethanol-petrol mix. Notably, this technology has already found success on the roads of over 35 countries, including Brazil.
Despite the significant technological advancements, the flex-fuel versions of these motorcycles maintain identical appearances to their conventional counterparts available in the Indian market. Bajaj Auto opted not to introduce any design alterations, ensuring that the distinctive designs that customers appreciate remain intact.
As of now, Bajaj Auto has not provided a specific timeline for the launch of the Pulsar NS160 Flex and Dominar E27.5. Regarding pricing, the Pulsar NS160 is currently available at Rs 1.37 lakh, while the Dominar 400 is listed at Rs 2.30 lakh, both prices reflecting the ex-showroom rates.
Bajaj Auto's exhibit at the Bharat Mobility Expo extended beyond flex-fuel innovations, featuring an array of offerings. Notable highlights included the Chetak electric scooter, showing its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. Additionally, the display also included the Qute CNG and electric three-wheelers, showcasing Bajaj Auto's comprehensive approach to diverse mobility needs.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto Ltd., expressed excitement about participating in the Bharat Mobility Expo. He emphasised the event as an excellent opportunity to showcase innovative mobility solutions to various stakeholders, including customers, policymakers, vendors, and collaborators. Sharma underscored Bajaj Auto's commitment to not only conventional fuel-based options but also newer and cleaner alternative fuels, aligning with societal goals. He pointed out that Bajaj's technology and manufacturing capabilities are not only serving customers in India but also reaching more than 90 countries globally.
