Bajaj Auto has launched the all-new Bajaj Platina 110 ABS, with the segment-first ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). Given the enormous scale of the entry-level commuter motorbike market in India, the inclusion of ABS in this segment is a significant step toward improving road safety.
The new Platina 110 with ABS improves safety by shortening the distance needed to stop, offering improved handling and stability in difficult conditions, and facilitating total control in emergency braking scenarios.
Platina 110 ABS engine specs include a 115.45cc engine displacement producing 8.6 bhp @ 7000 rpm and 9.81 Nm torque @ 5000 rpm. Comfortable seats, extended front and rear suspension, headlights with DRLs, and a new digital speedometer with ABS indicator, gear indicator, and gear guiding features are some other characteristics the bike comes equipped with. Platina ABS price is set at a starting price of Rs 72,224 in India.
Apart from that, this Bajaj bike is still constructed around a single downtube, lower cradle frame, front telescopic forks, and rear dual shock absorbers. Braking responsibilities are performed by 240 mm disc for the front tyre, and a 110 mm drum. While the rear brakes have a combined braking system, the front brakes have ABS.
Talking about the launch, Bajaj Auto – President, Motorcycles – Sarang Kanade said, “India accounts for highest road deaths across the world with 2-wheelers accounting for 45% of these accidents. Our understanding of the Indian consumer suggests that commuter riders face panic braking scenarios frequently.”
He further added, “With the new Platina 110 ABS, we want to offer riders complete control in unforeseen braking scenarios. We are confident that 2-wheeler riders who face difficult riding situations would consider Platina 110 ABS to keep themselves and their loved ones safe with the best-in-segment braking technology.”
