At Auto Expo 2023, the Mumbai-based electric mobility startup Liger Mobility unveiled the Liger X and the Liger X Plus, two brand-new electric scooters. The company further asserts that these electric scooters are the first self-balancing scooters ever made in India.
Bookings for both will start in the middle of 2023, and deliveries should start by the end of the year. The Liger X is anticipated to cost around Rs 1.7 lakh, while the X Plus variant will probably cost around Rs 1.9 lakh. However, the business hasn't provided any pricing information.
The company claims that its patented "Auto-Balancing" technology enables the e-scooter to balance itself at slow speeds or even while it is standing still. The two-wheeler company further mentioned that this device immediately enters standby mode for reliable handling at higher speeds. Furthermore, to further suit their comfort, the rider also has the option of manually engaging this mechanism.
Both the Liger X and Liger X Plus share similar design features, such as cutting-edge LED headlights. Additionally, the same five colour options - Grey, Polar White, Blue, Titanium, and Red - will be available for each of these e-scooters.
A feature known as "Learner mode" allows the rider to restrict the vehicle's top speed on the new Liger X and Liger X Plus. The business also disclosed that both e-scooters might get software updates over the air (OTA).
A lithium-ion battery pack is included with both the Liger X and Liger X plus electric scooters. The Liger X is the only device with a detachable battery, though. The business also announced that it would provide fast-charging alternatives for both e-scooters, but only as a supplement.
Both models' top speeds are 65 kmph. However, the Liger X claims to have a range of 60 km and a charging period of 4.5 hours. On the other hand, the Liger X Plus has a non-detachable battery pack with a claimed range of 100 km and charges in 3 hours.
Both e-scooter models come equipped with 4G, GPS, and smartphone connectivity. The e-scooter will provide data through this option, including its current position, past rides, battery pack SOC, and temperature. Additionally, the smartphone app offers tow, accident, and service reminders.
