Auto Expo 2023: Day 1 Recap - 2-Wheelers Brands That Launched Their Product

After a 3 year long break, the Auto Expo is back for its 16th edition of the event. The event started with a big bang, from all the new reveals to futuristic concepts! Scroll below to find out all the top highlights from this year’s action-packed Day 1 of Auto Expo 2023.

Ampere

First on the list is the Greaves-owned Ampere brand that took the wraps off of their new Primus electric scooter. The scooter is equipped with a 3kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The scooter claims to have an IDC range of 120 km. The New Primus mid-mounted motor has a peak power output of 3.8kW, which is more than impressive. In addition, the power in this scooter is transferred to the rear wheel through a final belt drive, a first for an Ampere Product.

The brand also unveiled E-scooter concepts at the event - NXG and NXU. The brand revealed that the concept models are based on a modular platform featuring the same mid-mounted motor as the Primus Electric scooter. However, the NXG will have a more premium offering that will be available to private buyers. The NXU, on the other side, is targeted at B2B and last-mile deliveries.

Benda

Benda showcased their BD300, a rebadged version of Keeway V302C. Apart from these, the brand unveiled a few other bikes like BD500, which is equipped with a liquid-cooled, 496cc, V4 engine. The V4 engine produces 45Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm and 56.3 horsepower at 10,000 rpm. The Ducati Diavel V4 has cylinder deactivation technology that turns off the rear cylinder bank at idle in the engine. Additionally, the BD500’s rear suspension is electronically adjustable, allowing you to modify the ride height to meet your needs.

The LFC700, a similarly appealing cruiser, has a liquid-cooled, 680cc, inline-four engine that, depending on the variant, produces either 84.5hp or 92.5hp. With the later engine tuning, a slipper clutch and Brembo brakes are among the finer specifications added to the bike.

The LFS700 naked bike, which has the same motor as the aforementioned cruiser but is dressed sportily, was next to it.

Benelli

Benelli displayed two motorcycles from its worldwide roster, the sporty naked 752S and the neo-retro Leoncino 800, in addition to its whole Indian product. The identical 754 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that powers both produces 67 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and 75hp at 8,500 rpm. In addition to having a different aesthetic, the Leoncino 800 weighs 14 kg less than the 226 kg 752S.

Keeway

The SR250, a second model in Keeway’s SR lineup of retro-styled motorcycles, has a starting price of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). An air-cooled, 223cc, single-cylinder mill producing 16 horsepower and 16 Nm powers it. Bookings have started for the SR250, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2023. The SR250 is Keeway’s eighth new product to be released in the Indian market.

Liger Mobility

At Auto Expo 2023, Mumbai-based Liger Mobility revealed the X and the X+, two electric scooters with a self-balancing capability. While both devices receive a lithium-ion battery pack, the Liger X has a detachable unit, unlike the Liger X+. Bookings for both start in the middle of 2023, and deliveries should start by the end of the year.

Matter Energy

Matter Energy is an Ahmedabad-based start-up company which uncovered its 2 new concept bikes at the event - EXE and the UT. Both devices have changeable battery packs and are built on the same platform. While the Concept-UT seems to be an electrified version of an adventure tourer, the Concept-EXE features an angular body and vivid colours. The older Matter e-bike was also displayed alongside it, although its name and price have not yet been revealed.

MBP

MBP (Moto Bologna Passione), an Italian company with Chinese ownership and origins, debuted the M502N naked bike and the C1002V cruiser at Auto Expo 2023. A 486cc parallel twin with liquid cooling powers the M502N at 46.9 horsepower and 45 Nm. A 5.0-inch TFT dash, an aluminium alloy frame, a 997cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, and a projector LED headlamp are included with the C1002V cruiser.

Moto Morini

At Auto Expo 2023, Moto Morini displayed their whole Indian lineup, which included the Seiemmezzo 6 ½ and X-Cape 650 pair. A neo-retro roadster, the Seiemmezzo 6 ½ is available as a scrambler or a roadster. Similar to the X-Cape 650, the X-Cape 650X comes with tubeless wire-spoke wheels, whereas the X-Cape 650 comes with cast alloy rims.

QJMotor

Along with the rest of its Indian lineup, QJMotor displayed the 400R sportbike, which is based on the SRK400 street naked. In addition, the QJMotor SRK700 street naked boasts a liquid-cooled, 698cc parallel-twin engine producing 72.4hp at 8,000 rpm and 67 Nm at 6,000 rpm despite weighing 196 kg, and was also on display at Auto Expo 2023. Not only did QJMotor display large-capacity equipment, but also three 125cc bikes, including two cruisers (the SCR125 and SRV 125) and a speedy naked (the TRX125).

Tork Motors

At Auto Expo 2023, Tork unveiled the Kratos X electric bike, which includes features like an aluminium swingarm, a 7.0-inch touch-compatible TFT dash, and an FF (Furiously Fast) riding mode. Compared to the Kratos R, an updated version of which was also displayed at the exhibition, the Kratos X will be a more expensive product. In addition, two new colour schemes and a new digital dash are added to the redesigned Kratos R.

TVS

Only its electric scooter, the TVS iQube, was present at the event. However, the iQube ST’s flagship model, which has a 140 km real-world range, an improved TFT dash, and a bigger under-seat storage area, was on display by TVS.

Ultraviolette

A race-spec version of Ultraviolette’s F77 e-bike has been made public, and the modifications are rather significant. For example, the battery architecture has changed from 60 to 120 volts, and the motor has undergone considerable rebuilding with new windings and a higher insulation grade. Some of the modifications done to the bike include Brembo radial master cylinders, winglets, adjustable rear sets, Pirelli Supercorsa tyres, and removing all road-legal requirements like mirrors, headlights, and number plate holders.

Zontes

The 350D and the 350E, two 350cc maxi-scooters from Zontes, were on display alongside its whole Indian lineup. The 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine in both produces the same 36.2hp at 7,500 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The weight of the two vehicles is their principal point of distinction; the 188 kg 350D is 10 kg less than the 350E, despite the latter’s bigger 16-litre gasoline tank as opposed to the 350D’s 12-litre tank. The Zontes U1-200 motard was a different model that was on display.
