Are you tired of searching for the best electric scooter in your budget? No worries because Ampere recently launched the Nexus ST electric scooter in India at an affordable price of Rs 1.20 Lakh. The brand offers 4 different colors to its users, including Indian Red, Lunar White, Steel Gray and Zanskar Aqua.
Additionally, Ather has also launched a budget-friendly family scooter, the Ather Rizta. The Ather Rizta Z is priced at Rs. 1.13 lakh in India. This electric scooter focuses on commuting and is Ather's first family-centric scooter. Moreover, the AtherStack 6.0 update brings new features like integrated WhatsApp. The Rizta offers seven colour options: Siachen White Mono, Deccan Grey Mono, Pangong Blue Duo and more.
Let’s know more about Ather Rizta Z and Ampere Nexus ST scooter:
Both the Ampere Nexus and Ather Rizta scooters don't have flashy or sporty designs. They are practical and look good for everyday use. The Nexus has a headlight similar to the Hero Xoom scooter.
Ather Rizta Z and Ampere Nexus ST have a battery capacity of 2.9 kWh and 3 kWh, respectively. Both electric scooters offer decent range. Ather can travel 123 km on a single charge, and it takes 8.3 hours to recharge fully. On the other hand, the Ampere electric scooter offers 136 km and a much faster 3.5-hour charging time.
Ather Rizta Z has a lower top speed of 80 kmph compared to Ampere's 93 kmph, making Ampere seem like the zippier choice. So, if you prioritise speed and fast charging, Ampere might be better. But for a longer range on a single charge, Ather could be the way to go.
Both scooters offer all LED lights and phone connectivity, but the Nexus ST keeps things simple with just navigation, music, and software updates. The Ather Rizta Z features a more feature-rich display with live traffic updates, message previews, and even auto-replies for calls.
It also has multiple riding modes like the Nexus ST but adds a "Zip" mode for extra zip and a "Smart Eco" mode to optimize battery use.
Moreover, the Rizta Z includes traction control and a unique "Magic Twist'' feature that slows you down using the motor without brakes. Both scooters have reverse gear and phone charging. The
Ather Rizta Z seems geared towards a more tech-savvy and safety-conscious rider.
Ather Rizta Z and Ampere Nexus ST both have telescopic forks in the front. However, the Nexus ST uses twin springs rear suspension, which is ideal for carrying more weight or handling rough roads. On the other hand, the Rizta Z has a monoshock, which can provide a smoother ride.
These electric scooters are quite similar. They both have disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear, and their wheels are the same size. You might choose the Nexus ST if you prioritise handling heavier loads and the Rizta Z for a potentially smoother ride.
