Ather Discontinues 450 Plus Electric Scooter Variant. Here’s Why

With the launch of the 450X electric scooter’s more economical variants in India, Ather Energy has revised its entire product line. As a result, there are two variant models of the Ather 450X range: Standard and Pro-Pack, with the latter receiving many additional features over the base model. The 450 Plus model of the electric scooter has been discontinued from our market by the Bangalore-based firm.

The Ather 450 Plus, which has fewer features than the 450X, was previously the cheapest model in the company’s line-up. However, after the revision of the variants, the regular 450 is now the newest entry-level model in the company’s line-up.

The Pro-Pack version’s specs are also available for the new base model. Both variants have similar 6 colour scheme as following - 

• Space Grey, 

• Still White, 

• Salt Green, 

• True Red, 

• Cosmic Black, & 

• Lunar Grey.

However, the base model has a single-riding mode, lacks rapid charging, and connectivity features. Additionally, compared to the Pro-Pack version, it lacks access to the Ather Grid charging network and has a shorter battery pack guarantee.

With these changes, Ather Energy was able to price its electric scooter more reasonably. The Ather 450X standard model now costs Rs. 98,183. The price of the Pro-Pack variant, which includes state subsidies, is Rs. 1,28,443 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
