KTM unveiled the next-generation 390 Duke, 250 Duke, and 125 Duke for the International markets. It looks terrific with its existing 390 Duke, with a strong design language. The new KTM model also includes a muscular tank design and larger tank extensions. The colour orange is traditional, but the blue shade gives it a more refined appearance. It also consists of a segment-first launch control.
The KTM model has an all-new design with a more aggressive headlight and revised sharp tank extensions. It comprises of a redesigned 820mm seat with thicker seat foam and a narrower profile. Another 800mm seat is also available as an option.
The 2024 390 design enhancements include a steel trellis frame, an aluminium subframe, and a curved cast swingarm. It has advanced suspension components, including the 43mm WP Apex separate piston fork and offset monoshock.
The international version boasts Michelin radial tyres, while the India-spec model employs Apollo tyres. The braking system, consisting of a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear unit, is complemented by cornering ABS with a SuperMoto mode for enhanced safety.
Technologically, the bike continues to feature a 5-inch TFT console equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, call and music control, and turn-by-turn navigation. The redesigned switchgear with 4-way menu switches on the left handlebar facilitates seamless control and access to features.
These models are set to launch in India later next year. The 2024 250 Duke and 125 Duke share the 390 Duke's platform and mirror its design language and structure with some feature compromises.
While retaining the frame and swingarm, these models may not include cornering ABS, launch control, or all riding modes. The 2024 Duke lineup is poised to deliver an elevated riding experience while catering to a diverse range of preferences and needs
The 250 Duke differs from the 390 Duke in various ways. It has a 5-inch LCD instrument console instead of the 390 Duke's TFT unit. The standard 250 Duke comprises a non-adjustable 43mm WP APEX big-piston fork with 150mm wheel travel. Moreover, it also consists of a preload adjustable WP Apex emulsion monoshock with 150mm wheel travel.
The leaked details on the website about the Duke 125 show WP Apex open cartridge fork with 150mm wheel travel. Additionally, the engine in both Duke 250 and Duke 125 offers more power and smoother acceleration. It also appears lighter than before and is Euro 5.2 emission ready.
The 2024 KTM 390 Duke is available at a price tag of around Rs. 3.30 lakh. In contrast, the ongoing generation of the 390 Duke is available at Rs. 2,97,475. The price difference reflects the advancements and upgrades introduced in the new model. Meanwhile, the 125 Duke and 250 Duke are available at Rs. 2 lahks and Rs. 2.60 lahks, respectively (all prices Ex-showroom).
The launch time indicates that 390 Duke and 250 Duke will be released next month, with enhanced features and designs for the market. However, the 2024 iterations of the 125 Duke and 200 Duke are expected to make their way to India in a year or so.
