2023 Yamaha R15 Set to Launch on 13 Feb Gets TFT Display, LED Blinkers, New Colour Range

The 2023 R15 edition will be introduced by Yamaha in India on 13th February. Some of the new improvements available on the bike have been disclosed by leaked photographs.

The company's flagship product in India is the Yamaha R15. Variable valve actuation (VVA), liquid cooling, a slipper clutch, a fast shifter (which only shifts up, not down), and other mechanical improvements are included. R15M will come with a price tag of Rs. 1,93,400. (ex-sh).

Customers would desire amenities like LED turn indicators and a TFT screen at this pricing tier. On R15, these two features were absent., which the Yamaha R15M V4 now has. These characteristics are not common, though. Only high-end models based on R15M are equipped with these feature improvements. Halogen indicators and an LCD instrument cluster are still standard on R15 V4 models.

To better operate this new TFT screen with M models, the switchgear has been upgraded. This updated switchgear makes it easier to move across the system. This new monitor, which shows numerous parameters and has Bluetooth connectivity as well as a smartphone app, is probably around 5" in size. Turn-by-turn directions are still shrouded in mystery. The 2023 R15 from Yamaha is also available in a new matte black colour with gold accents and gold alloys.

MT-15 Gets Dual-Channel ABS

The MT-15 receives the same LED blinkers as the R15M. But with the MT-15 Ver 2.0, Yamaha does not provide a TFT display. Yes, Yamaha has added dual-channel ABS on the MT-15. However, you must spend the extra money and choose the R15 V4 if you want a TFT screen. Following a recent price increase, the Yamaha MT-15 Ver 2.0 is currently available for Rs. 1,66,400 (ex-sh).

Expect the top-spec Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition to cost more than Rs. 1.7 lakh with these new improvements and editions. Dual-channel ABS on the MT-15 may be either standard or optional. Both the R15 V4 and the MT-15 are mechanically identical to earlier models. It comes equipped with the same 155cc engine, which produces 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm of torque and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.
