Kawasaki KLX 230 vs Yamaha Lander 250: Detailed Comparison
Kawasaki KLX 230 vs Yamaha Lander 250: Detailed Comparison
CalendarPublished on January 25, 2025 by BikeJunction
There are more factors to consider than features when deciding between the Yamaha Lander 250 and Kawasaki KLX 230 than adventure style. The KLX provides pure off-road excitement, while the Lander impresses with its adaptability and cost. Find out how they compare side by side in terms of designs and prices, then select the best adventure bike. Comparing Yamaha Lander 250 and Kawasaki KLX 230In India, Yamaha Motor India unveiled the Lander 250, their next 250cc ADV. The adventure bike, which is now available in Brazilian markets, is anticipated to make its debut in India shortly and will go up against the Kawasaki KLX 230 in the 200–250cc adventure cycle market. This is how the two motorcycles compete against one another: DesignIn terms of appearance, the Yamaha Lander 250 is a dual-sport motorcycle with single-piece headlights and a beak-like front fender. The upswept exhaust further improves the bike's ability to navigate through water. On the other hand, features like headlights, rearview mirrors, and other parts make the Kawasaki KLX 230 a true dirt bike. With its narrow body panels, the off-roading is simpler and more enjoyable than the Lander 250, which has a larger design. EngineA well-known 249cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the now-discontinued Yamaha FZ-25 powers the forthcoming Lander 250. This engine produces a max power of 20.5PS and a torque of 20.1 Nm. On the other hand, a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates 19PS and 19.8Nm powers the KLX 230. Both bikes are linked to a 6-speed gearbox. Although the power and torque outputs of the two ADVs are comparable. As a result, the Lander 250 is a winner in this category, with a slightly higher output of 1.5 PS and 0.3 Nm. FeaturesThe Yamaha Lander 250 is equipped with a negatively-lit LCD instrument console. The Kawasaki KLX, on the other hand, gets a normal LCD instrument cluster. Both bikes feature LED lighting and smartphone connectivity with call and SMS alerts. Both ADVs also get switchable rear ABS. Hence, both of them provide more or less similar features. UnderpinningsA telescopic fork with 220mm of wheel travel and a monoshock with 204mm of wheel travel makes the Lander 250's hardware. With dual-channel ABS, it has a 203mm disc brake at the back and a 245mm disc brake at the front. By comparison, the KLX 230 is equipped with a monoshock (wheel travel of 250mm) and a telescopic fork (wheel travel of 240mm). Additionally, a 220mm rear disc brake and a 265mm front disc brake are used for braking. Moreover, both bikes have dual-sport tube tyres and spoke wheels measuring 21 inches in front and 18 inches in back. This division is won by the Kawasaki KLX 230 because of its larger disc brakes and longer travel suspension system. JudgementThe Lander 250 is probably made locally and is based on the 250cc chassis now used by the Japanese manufacturer. As a result, its pricing should be substantially cheaper than that of the KLX 230. The Yamaha ADV should cost between Rs 1.70 lakh and Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), according to our estimation. In contrast, the KLX 230 is priced at Rs 3,30,000 (ex-showroom) and is offered as a CBU. These presumptions suggest that the KLX 230 will be viewed as more expensive and the Yamaha ADV will be more affordable. Before you go, check out the details of the upcoming Yamaha MT-09.Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fbInstagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_instaTwitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
