Honda has recently revealed its first electric scooter in India, the Activa e. The company has entered the electric two-wheeler segment with this vehicle. The Activa e will be offered in five stylish color options: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matte Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black. Let's get into the details of the Honda Activa e scooter. Sleek Design and FeaturesHonda Activa e features a neat and simple design. It features an LED headlight on the apron and LED DRLs on the handlebar cowl. The rear LED tail light has a dark smoke effect, adding to its stylish appearance. Overall, its design is family-friendly and clean, with minimal creases on the body. In terms of features, the Activa e includes a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can receive call alerts, SMS notifications, and navigation assistance. However, it is not a touchscreen and requires a toggle switch for navigation. Swappable Batteries and PerformanceThis electric scooter from Honda will offer you two 1.5 kWh batteries that would be swappable. So, you will get a range of 102 Km with these batteries. Moreover, The company has currently around 84 stations for replacing the battery of this scooter and is planning to expand it into Delhi and Mumbai soonest.  Apart from this, the Electric Activa comes with a motor of 6kW, which enables it to achieve a top speed of 80kmph. The River Indie electric scooter has had many exciting updates, so its performance and experience will be much improved. Its main improvement is that the motor is more powerful. The first variant was introduced last year; now, it has a couple of noticeable improvements. However, the product is now available in two new colors: grey and white. River has upgraded the scooter with a new chain drive system and single-speed gearbox. A dedicated reverse switch has also been added for added convenience. Moreover, River Indie now commands a premium hike of Rs. 18,000 over the previous price. This means it costs Rs. 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom, India) compared to Rs. 1.25 lakh for the earlier variant. In addition to the updates noted, the River Indie keeps its preceding mechanicals, functions, and design factors. It maintains the same split LED headlight, huge boxy frame panels, and a realistic yet fashionable build. Honda has made a significant announcement by unveiling the Honda QC1 and Activa e. These two models are their first electric scooters for the Indian market. This is the much-awaited entry of the Japanese giant in India's fast-growing electric two-wheeler market. With the latest technology and environmentally responsible operation, both models are set to transform urban transportation. Let’s discuss both of the models in detail. Honda QC1: Minimalistic and SimpleThe Honda QC1 stands out with its simple design and minimalistic look. Featuring smooth lines, large body panels, and an apron-mounted LED headlight. Riders can choose from five stylish colors: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Nightstar Black, and Matte Foggy Silver Metallic. Engine & PerformanceIf we talk about the engine, the QC1 scooter is powered by a 1.5kWh fixed battery setup. This engine has an impressive 80-kilometer range in just one full charge and a top speed of 50 km/h. Additionally, the best part is it takes only 4.5 hours to recharge the battery fully. Riders have the option to choose between two modes: Standard for everyday city rides and Econ for better efficiency. Furthermore, the scooter has a five-inch LCD screen, USB Type-C charging, all-LED lighting, and a 26-litre storage capacity.  Brakes & WheelsThe e-scooter QC1 comes with telescopic front forks and dual rear springs suspension. For better stopping, this model has drum brakes on its 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. Honda Activa e: Smart and PowerfulThe Activa e is a wonderful combination of smart features, power, and design. It comes in two variants: Standard and Sync Duo.  Engine & PerformanceThe e-scooter has two swappable batteries of 1.5kWh, with a 102 km range, known as the Honda Mobile Power Pack e. These batteries were developed by Honda Power Pack Energy India. Additionally, the company claims that they've already set up battery-swapping stations in Bengaluru and Delhi. Apart from these cities, the work is also being processed in Mumbai.  These batteries have the ability to power a 6kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that can produce a torque of 22Nm. The Activa e has three riding modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport, and it accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Innovative FeaturesRiders who are tech-savvy will like its seven-inch TFT screen and connectivity features via the Honda RoadSync Duo app. Furthermore, the Toggle switch controls, navigation, and day/night modes enhance the experience. Honda's H-Smart key's Smart Find, Safe, Unlock and Start functions improve convenience. Brakes and Colour OptionsIn addition, the Activa e has dual rear springs, telescopic forks at the front, and a disc-drum braking system. Similar to the QC1, it will come in five eye-catching colours: Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Serenity Blue, and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic. Launch Details and AvailabilityHonda will disclose the QC1 and Activa-e prices in January 2025 and start deliveries in February. Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru will be the first places where the Activa e will be available.
