Simple One Scooter is More Expensive & Heavier - Here’s Why!
Simple One Scooter is More Expensive & Heavier - Here’s Why!
CalendarPublished on May 25, 2023 by BikeJunction
Simple One scooter is finally available, but it’s expensive by Rs. 30,000 and weighs 19 kg heavier than before! After more than 1.6 years of its initial ‘launch’, the Simple One electric scooter is now heavier in size and has more cost to it. Manufacturers have enhanced its tech specs, and now the scooter is quite heavy; here’s why!Reason Why Simple One Scooter is Heavier Now!The earlier version of the Simple One weighed around 115 kg and had a 4.8 kWh battery. The new version comes with improved production specs, accompanying a heavier 5kWh battery and a total weight of 134 kg. We assume that the heaviness in the scooter by an extra 19 kg is due to alteration in battery casings to comply with new & strict AIS 156 norms. The new battery is quite large, however, not that much. Additionally, the chassis has more weight to carry; the casings are also different. Altogether, to cope with the additional weight from all these attributes, the company has tried to strengthen parts of certain areas by re-engineering them.Reason Why Simple One is Now More Expensive Than Before!Simple One launch price was Rs 1.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Now, after the new alternation in production-spec, this eclectic scooter is priced between Rs 1.45 lakh-1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The FAME-II subsidy has tanked severely ever since Simple first announced its pricing. In effect,  the manufacturers, at all costs, couldn't provide this scooter for lower rates. We speculate the other reason for the price hike could be the enhancement in battery capacity. The ongoing engineering changes have resulted in the price hike of this electric scooter. Hope this works in the favour of this emerging two-wheeler brand and customers prefer to buy it despite its inflating prices. Are you searching for a new bike? Explore bikejunction & compare your choice of bike, we will help you out with a bike loan. Select your bike according to category and other specifications on Bike Junction with just one click.
