The recall addresses a brake lever function issue identified in specific units of these 125cc scooters. The company assures affected customers that the replacement part required for the fix will be provided at no cost. To determine eligibility for the recall, owners of these Yamaha scooters need to log into the Service section of the India Yamaha Motor website, access the 'SC 125 Voluntary Recall,' and input their chassis number details to receive instructions for the next steps. Alternatively, they can visit the nearest Yamaha service centre or contact India Yamaha Motor through the toll-free number – 1800-420-1600 – for further assistance. This recall of approximately 300,000 units marks the largest recall by India Yamaha Motor to date. Since the implementation of SIAM's Code of Voluntary Recall in July 2012, the company has recalled a cumulative total of 63,977 units.
