During its time, the Yamaha RD350 bike was available in two versions, including High Torque (HT) which was in sale from 1983-1985 and Low Torque (LT) from 1985 to 1989

Yamaha RD350 Unique Engine

Yamaha RD350 was equipped with a seven-port, two-stroke parallel-twin engine with reed valves. Moreover, the HT version generates 30.5 bhp, and the LT version delivers 27 bhp.

Transmission System

The 6-speed gearbox with a shifting pattern of one down and five up was designed excellently. The Yamaha RD350 allows you to perform smoothly on highways and handle slow speeds in city traffic

The top speed of Yamaha RD350 is 150kmph, and it takes 8.12 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. Moreover, both variants come with a 178mm drum front brake in India.

Key Highlights

Yamaha RD350’s engine has a unique setup of twin VM28 Carburettors to tune the performance of the engine. Also, in the HT variant, “Made In Japan” is inscribed on the left-hand engine cover.
