Suzuki Recalls Nearly 4 Lakh Scooters and Bikes in India

Massive Recall

This significant recall is for Suzuki Access 125, Burgman 125, and Avenis 125 models and is effective July 25, 2024. Vehicles manufactured from April 30 to December 3, 2022, are affected.

Reason for This Recall

Suzuki attributes the issue to a defective high-tension cord installed in the ignition coil. The cord did not meet design specifications, leading to cracks and breakage from engine oscillation.

Affected Models

Suzuki has identified 2,63,788 affected Access units, 52,578 Avenis units, and 72,025 Burgman 125 units. They emphasize this as a precautionary measure and that affected owners to visit service centres.

Suzuki has initiated a separate recall for the V-Strom 800DE in India, affecting units produced from May 5, 2023, to April 23, 2024. The global recall impacts an estimated 67 units in India.

Faulty Rear tyres in V-Strom 800DE

The problem arises from a defective rear tyre with potential cracks or deformations in the tread. If not addressed, parts of the tread may separate, affecting vehicle dynamics.
