Kawasaki plans to launch a new retro-styled quarter-litre motorcycle named the W230 in Japan soon.

Features

The design is minimalist, highlighted by a circular LED headlight, dual analogue gauges with a digital display, and chrome accents on the headlight bezel, exhaust pipes, and handlebar.

Engine

W230 features a 233cc single-cylinder engine, similar to the KLR230. While power output specifics remain undisclosed, the KLX230 engine generates 20hp at 8000 rpm and 20.6Nm at 6000 rpm.

Suspensions

The motorcycle features gaitered telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. It utilizes front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS mounted on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.

Vintage design

Kawasaki W230 appeals to mature audiences and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts. India's market for classic bikes is seen in high sales of models like the Royal Enfield Bullet and Classic 350.

Price Range

Kawasaki initially launched the W175 at Rs 1.47 lakh, which is now reduced to Rs 1.22 lakh. Will Kawasaki keep the W175 alongside the W230 or replace it? That is still a question.
